Elf Haul and first impressions! | Chloe

Posted by Unknown at 5/07/2014 3 comments

Hello lovelies!
Hope you are all well, and are enjoying your week so far :).

So ELF had a special promotion on over Easter where you got 50% off if you spend £30 or more, plus 2 free gifts if you spend over £15 So of course I took full advantage of this deal and hit the website on Easter Sunday.
I decided I wasn't going to go completely mental when ordering, but I did get a fair few things, so let's take a look at what I got shall we? I also thought I would do a first impressions as I've had  a chance to try them out since buying them.

The first thing I got was a cream eye liner.
I am rubbish at applying liquid eye liner and tend not to wear any on my lash line because 90% of the time I will look like a panda or it goes horribly wrong! So I thought the cream eye liner would be a little bit easier to apply. I really like the packaging it comes in, a little pot with a brush included, very similar to other gel liners. It is a lot easier to apply than liquid liner, in my opinion and stays on all day perfectly! It also helps that its waterproof as its coming up to the hotter weather (hopefully!)

The second thing I go was the Mineral Foundation in Light.
Now because this was my first time buying from ELF I had no idea what shade I was! But I know I am quite pale so I go it in the shade light.
The packaging for this is very smart, but a little small. And when I went to shake the pot to get the product out, it didn't go to well. Not much came out and I was shaking a lot, some of it also went on my jeans, I think its going to take some getting used to. But overall I was happy with the coverage it gave.

Third thing that popped into my online basket was the Eyebrow Collection kit.
I saw this on the website and though it was brilliant value for money for £6.95 you get: 4 eyebrow stencils *list the names*, a brush, tweezers, brow gel and powder and a setting mascara! Fantastic! I thought the stencils would be brilliant for me as I am not the best and filling in my eyebrows if I'm honest. I honestly love the gel and powder duo, mixed together and they are the perfect shade for my brows!

The next things I got was 2 baked eye shadows, in the shades 'Enchanted' and 'Burnt Plum'.
I had to get these even though I have more than enough eye shadows because  the colours just looked so pretty on the website I needed them! I love these colour so much! 'Burnt Plum' (The purple ish one) is a lot more pigmented than 'Enchanted' but both of them are great quality! I love applying 'Enchanted' on my lid and a little bit of 'Burnt Plum' in my crease to define it a bit more.

The fifth thing that caught my eye was the tinted moisturizer.
I've been meaning to buy one of these for a while now as I some times I want to let my skin breathe a little and go for a more natural look. So I thought a tinted moisturizer would be perfect! I got the colour 'Apricot Beige' and when I was ordering it, I was scared it would be too dark for me, I think it is the lightest one they do, but I was still not sure. As I said before I'd never ordered off of ELF before so I'm not sure of the shading. But I think I got it right! I haven't used this much since getting this as my skin as been bad and I need to have a little bit more coverage for school, in my opinion. So I can't really comment on it just yet.

(why is this on its side? I've rotated it twice! Arrr!!)

And finally the last thing I got was the HD Blush, In the shade 'Headliner'
I've been wanting a new blush for a while now, I have a few but but I wanted to try new softer colours as it's coming up to summer! So when scrolling through the ELF website I found their HD blushes.
I first tried it out and it was unbelievably watery. But after I shook it a bit, it turned out okay. I looked on the reviews for this product as I was sure if I'd like it, most people said a tiny bit goes a long way. And they are completely right! The bottle it comes in is quite small, but it will last for ever as you do really need a tiny bit.

Now like I said at the beginning on the post, as I had spent over £15 I got 2 free gifts included in my order. At first I didn't receive them but the lovely people at ELF got that sorted out quickly. (Hence why this post is up a bit late!)

The first gift I got was a mineral eyeshadow in the shade 'bronze'.
I had seen this on the website when ordering, and thought it looked pretty good but stopped myself from buying anything else! So I was very pleased that this was one of my free gifts! The packaging on most ELF products, like their mineral foundation, eyeshaodows etc. is very smart, considering how cheap the products are! I know that some cheaper brands look like they are cheap but I don't get that impression with ELF. I've worn this once since receiving it and the colour of it is just great! I have a feeling this will be making its way into a part of my daily routine!

The second free gift I got was a lip gloss in the shade juicy berry (I think)
I am not a huge fan on lipgloss if I'm honest, I don't know why but I can't never stand the feeling on stuff on my lips. But i always like to try out new products, to see if I get on with them. And i have to say that I am impressed with this! I love the colour it gives on my lips and it's very glossy! (Also it smells amazing which is a bonus!)

But that is it for my ELF haul! I hope I didn't bore you too much?

What's you favourite ELF product? I'd love to know in the comments!

Till next time

REVIEW: Pink Addiction perfume review // Cerys

Posted by Unknown at 5/06/2014 0 comments
Hello lovelies,

Today this post if you haven't guessed from the title is a review on a perfume I was lucky enough to try out, be prepared this could get long.
This perfume is called pink addiction by Dore Dion, it is available online and exclusively at Harrods. So we got an email asking if we would like to sample this perfume and we of course to the opportunity and said yes, the samples arrived I think 2 days later in this very cute sample size spray bottle.
As soon as we tried it we were amazed by the floraly fruity slightly minty scent! It literally might be one of the best perfumes I've smelt, I'm not really a perfume girl I'm more for the body sprays, but I happily would wear this instead. This perfume is aimed and teenagers or young teens around our age so it was great we got to try it.

After receiving the sample and loving it so much I got offered to try the full size bottle. When it arrived it came beautifully wrapped in a big bag, then wrapped in pink tissue paper. Inside was the perfume box surrounded by a few little clear crystals. The appearance was appealing and if I saw this in a shop I would definitely go over and take a look. The bottle came in a pink box with a design the same as the one on the bottle. The shape of the bottle is of a rectangular shape the lid can simply be pulled of and then same as the sample it is a spray style bottle.

As you can see the bottle is a perfect size, around the size of my hand so can be taken places in your bag without taking up to much space. The bottle has such a nice design with its pink tinted glass it has 2 flowers as seen on the box with 2 crystal gems in the centre of each flower for extra detail, This is defiantly an appealing product and I would be happy to recommend this to anyone I know.

The scent is described as having "top notes of zesty Italian winter lemon, delicious cranberry, royal Madagascan jasmine followed by middle notes of white pearl peony and water flower; all ending gorgeous base note blend of soft blond wood and snowy patchouli" I think the way they described it is exactly what we smelt, after I had started wearing the perfume I was being complimented and asking what scent I was wearing and I know Chloe did too. My sister who is older than me was begging me to give her the perfume or let her borrow it so I really do think anybody will love the scent. This perfume is great because it is not to strong but strong enough so that when you walk past someone the get a subtle smell of the beautiful scent. This perfume is £20 and can be found here You are defiantly getting your money's worth as the perfume is filled right to the rim and is lasting me very well. When I run out I will be tempted to buy another bottle!

Although we were sent this perfume this is entirely mine and Chloe's view and if we didn't like the product I would have said. This is a reasonably priced gorgeous scented perfume which has a great design aimed at teens, and I think any other age above that would enjoy the scent as well! I would defiantly recommend this to all of you reading and if you are interested in purchasing one of these your self the you can click  here to find out more about the brand and the product.

That's it from me come back and look for our joint post later this week!

25 facts about me! | Chloe

Posted by Unknown at 4/23/2014 1 comments

Happy Wednesday!
Bit of a different post today, as I realised you may not know that much about me so I thought I'd let you guys know a bit more by doing the 25 facts about me post.

1) I was born the 2nd October 1998, making me 15.

2) I am twin! My sister and I are 9 minutes apart and I'm the youngest! :)

3) I am 5ft7 making me the giant of my friendship group. I'm also taller than most boys in my year, which sucks!

4) My favourite colour is purple.

5) I hate tea and coffee. The only hot drink I will drink is hot chocolate, I'm a bit weird like that.

6) I have a weird shaped scar on my chin where I fell out of my nan's door when I was 4. I also than fell off a long board a few years later and re-opened the scar.

7) I hate the smell of porridge, it makes me want to gag. I seriously can not think of anything worse.

8) I've never been on a plane and I don't even own a passport.

9) My favourite movie is Toy Story, I've loved ever since I was about 4? Maybe younger. And I remember I used to have a buzz light year toy (which I still have)

10) I overthink a LOT! It can be the most simplest thing, but my brain will over think it and blow it out of proportion.

11) I can't catch to save my life. If you throw something at me there is a 99.9% chance I will drop it.

12) I am awkward and don't really like talking to/meeting new people. But once I get to know them a bit, I'm fine.

13) I have had 3 operations, 1 when I was 7 months old, 1 when I was in year 7 and one when I was in year 8.

14) My name was going to be spelt with a K ... Imagine that ... Khloe!!

15) I'd love to travel the world, and see new things!

16) I only started wearing make up and getting into 'beauty' about a year ago, if that.

17) My dream job would be a photographer of some sort.

18) I had 3 other blogs before this blog, but sadly they are deleted now and they were shockingly horrible!

19) When I was 11/12 I cut all my hair off, biggest mistake of my life as now its not growing to the length I want it!!

20)  I love books! I have an obsession with books and its grower more and more, I love reading and will buy a book 90% of the time I go shopping, oops!

21) When I was about 10 I wanted to be a writer and would write little stories that, to be honest, were terrible!

22) I want the quote 'To Infinity And Beyond' tattooed on my wrist, when I'm 18.

23) I am always on either twitter or instagram, its becoming a real problem ...

24) Cerys and I came up with the idea for this blog as a joke originally but than once we had talked about it a bit more, we decided we were seriously going to write one.

25) No body from my school know's about this blog, and hopefully it will stay like that for a while!

How we Style Acid Wash Jeans | TeensWithABlog

Posted by Unknown at 4/21/2014 0 comments
Hello Lovelies!
Hope you all had a lovely Easter, and didn't eat too many eggs (something we might be guilty of ... )

So we are officially into spring now and we can finally say goodbye to the short, damp and colds days! Although the weather can still be a little up and down here in the UK, generally things will start to get better! We are loving the acid wash jeans at the moment! They are perfect for spring, when the weather is a bit cold. So we both came up with an outfit each to show how we style them.

Okay so I asked my mum to help pick out this outfit as I was a bit stuck when looking through my wardrobe, and she said it would be perfect in the evening when the sun goes down.

Chloe

Top:
Here in the UK it can get very cold in the evening when the sun is setting so I've picked out this purple jumper from Primark.

Jeans:
The acid wash jeans I have are these pales disco jeans from new look and I got them from the generation 915 section. They are high rise and fit me perfectly which is very rare when buying jeans for me as I'm at that awkward in between sizes stage.

Shoes:
I chose these beige brogue styles shoes which were a hand-me-down from my older sister as she grew out of them, which I'm so glad she did as they go so nicely with this outfit. These are again from new look and size 6. I think they are perfect for spring/summer time because of their colour and they keep my feet cool. There is nothing worse than having sweaty feet. Ew.

Accessories:
I opted for this flower crown as it is spring time after all! I brought this last year from claires and loved it but I didn't wear enough! So this year its my mission to wear it more! I'm also really liking wavy hair at the moment, I think it looks very spring/summery.

Cerys

Top:
The top that I am wearing, is actually from a market stall, I love the little quote that is on it. Now as the top is a little low cut I have put a plain light blue bandeau underneath which I got from New Look.

Now like Chloe said in the evening it will get colder so I've got this long green coat from New Look, ready for when it gets chilly.

Jeans:
I've got for a darker pair of acid wash jeans compared to Chloe's. These are also from the Generation 915 section at New Look.

Shoes:
The super cute boots are from Primark, I have been searching for ages to find a pair like these, so when I saw them I had to pick them up! They are such a lovely colour and match my outfit perfectly!

Accessories:
I have this best friend charm necklace on, I kept it simple as it suited the outfit better. And my friend got me this from accessorise.

This super simple but cute ring is from H&M, again I wanted to keep accessories simple.

So that is how we style acid wash jeans! We hope it gave you some idea's for spring, or any other season!

Make sure you're following out Bloglovin' as we will be doing a little mini give away soon!

If you would like to see these outfits in a little more detail than we made a video on it, over on our youtube. Click *here* to see that!

What's in my make up bag? | Chloe

Posted by Unknown at 4/16/2014 0 comments

Hello Lovelies!!
Now I travel every 2 weeks up to my dads. So instead of taking all my make up (which would be totally pointless and take up to much room!) I only take a few essential that I need.

So here's 'What's in my make up bag'

Rimmel London Match Perfection Foundation (Shade: True Ivory):
Even though I usually have 'Lazy days' at my dads, I will still wear foundation. I know some people can get away with just concealer but my skin has so many red patches and spots I tend to go for foundation as well.

MUA Concealer (Shade: fair):
Like I said, my skin is so bad with spots (especially on my chin!) that a concealer is needed. I also have horrible dark circles so this helps perfectly.

Rimmel London Stay Matte (Shade: transparent)
I take this everywhere with me! It is my favourite powder! I've got to set my foundation and concealer in place and this done this jobs.

MUA Eye Palettes:
I like to take a palette with me as it gives me a wider range of colours to choose from. I either take the MUA Undressed or the Undress Me Too palette as the colours in there match almost everything I wear.

Maybelline Great Lashes Mascara:
Mascara is a must have for me! My eyes look so bare, short and horrible without it.

And that's about all that I take! I sometimes will change the mascara or put a lipstick in, depending on what I'm doing at the weekend. I also take a few brushes and stuff like that. I keep it simple as my make up bag is only small and I don't want ALL my make up being moved around all the time! And like I said I usually just relax on the weekend as well and not do much, so there's no need to look all fancy.

Till next time!

Chloe xo

** I know the photo's are not good in this post. I was trying a new background and it didn't really work how I wanted, but I wanted to get this post up. The photo's will be better next time I promise! xo

New Hair Colour! | Chloe

Posted by Unknown at 4/02/2014 0 comments

I've been dying my hair red for about 3 years now and decided I needed a change.
My hair had gone a horrible faded red colour with terrible roots! After not dying it in about 3 months. So as I was looking through the different hair colours deciding what colour I should go and eventually decided I would go back to my natural colour (almost).
As much as I loved my red hair, I wasn't allowed to get the bright red like I wanted until the summer so for now I'm back to being a brunette.

I went from this:

To this as it faded:

To this: (rubbish quality)

My hair also feels a lot healthier as don't look as horrible as it did. I used L'Oréal Paris Excellence Creme. In the shade 6 natural light brown. It got rid of my roots, and gave me an even colour all round, it isn't as light as I thought it was going to be, but it very close to my natural colour.

I'm hoping I'll keep this colour for a while, but we'll see. I'm thinking blond next ... hmmm.

Till next time

ombre party nails // Cerys

Posted by Unknown at 2/24/2014 0 comments
Hey guys so I haven't posted a single post in a while and I am hoping now that I have a few posts planned I can get back on track with my schedule!

Okay so let's get started!

Things you will need:

A sponge that can be cut to a size to fit your nails.

2 colours one dark and one lighter
 (eg. black and turquoise)

Glitter (eg. silver) this is optional
You may want a brush to apply the glitter

Cotton wool buds

Nail vanish remover

Clear coat for base and top
That should be it :)

That should be everything :)

First you need to grab you clear coat and paint your nails, we are using this base coat because we want to prevent chipping and staining to the nail, this is a good thing to do since we will be working with darker colours today.

Next you want to grab your sponge ( I find cheap makeup sponges work good with this because they have a soft texture ) I bought mine from Poundland. You need to decide which colour you want to be near the cuticle I find that the darker colour looks best.

You need to paint both colours on the sponge for this look you wont need to mix both colours on the sponge. They will blend automatically when you sponge them on your nail.

This brings me to the next step, you need to dab the sponge on to the nail. I find rotating your finger is the best method for this. ( this part can get messy but don't worry we will clean up at the end.

I usually do one coat and then wait for it to dry, re-apply the polish to the sponge then apply to the nail again.

TIP: I would advise using one sponge per hand to minimise the chance of parts of the sponge sticking to your nail!

After the polish is dry, you can start with the glitter! I like to use a old make up brush to apply the glitter because it is probably the simplest way to do it. Now before the glitter apply one coat of clear polish so that the glitter will stick.

Now I am using silver glitter because I think it looks perfect with the colours I chose but any glitter will do if it matches your colour scheme :) So what I do is apply glitter to one side of the brush, then I pat the brush with the glitter side facing the nail. What I aim for is to have more glitter at the top of the nail and less at the bottom, it gives a nice gradient look! I put paper underneath so I can reuse any excess glitter and to create less mess.

Now what you need to do is tidy up the nails with the nail vanish remover and cotton buds.

Leave the glitter to set then add one last coat of clear polish to help give your look a nice shine and to prevent chipping :)

That's it from me, have a good day!
- Cerys x
